Okay, I am on my soap box about H1N1. It is just disgusting and scary that we in this society can be so totally controlled by the media or some leader!! Reminds me of another time and another place. It is scary that we cannot think for ourselves.
Do you think there is a reason the seniors are the group of people that are not getting the H1N1. Probably because they had it in one of the many flus they had as children when one or two times each year the school was half empty but carried on anyway. In a day when parents were considered smart enough to watch over their children and take them to the doctor when they couldn't breathe or had a fever for too many days and didn't have to be informed of that on TV or by pamphlets.
Do you really think shaking hands stops the movement of the flu?? The H2N1 flu is an airborne virus! AIRBORNE! So while you aren't shaking someone's hand you are accepting their germs from their mouth to your nose. If you were to get the flu from touching hands you would have to put your hand in your mouth and the other person would have had to have had their hand in their mouth shortly before you touched hands.
I really think it is sad that we are discouraging the "touching" element from our society which is already becoming more and more isolated from each other.
Do you notice that the media dwells on a death where the young person was healthy and died from the H1N1 ( a very sad event) and fails to mention the few that have died right here in our city at all. Is that because they had underlying conditions and it wouldn't be as effective at scaring us and making us all panic and rush off to the vaccination sites and emergency rooms which can't process all of us so the media then has some more sensational, tragic news to report about the terrible state the health care system and the government who are all at fault.
Behind every story there is a story that is not told (partly because of privacy) which means we never really have the whole picture and yet we just take what we get and never THINK for ourselves and do our own research.
Really people it is time we stopped this madness. It is time we stopped acting like a bunch of sheep who would jump over a cliff it the shepherd led them there or the first sheep jumped. We need to watch what shepherd we are following.
